Aginst All Odds: Chapter 2

I ran towards the guard tower as I fixed the supressor on my rifle. I quickly ran up the stairs, let the two guards in and closed and bolted the door. I opened the window and looked around, several soldeirs with L85's were pillaging the armory. I adjusted my scope, aimed it towards a soldier polishing his recently aqquired M9, and fired. A quiet puff sound came out of my supressor as the soldier fell. They barely knew what was happening and I quickly aqquired targets. Its a good thing my dad took me to the range every weekend. As that thought went through my mind, I rememberd the day I got the notice that my dad had died in combat...No time for drifting away. The two security guards were firing there glocks at the soldiers who had now figured out where we were. There were only about 5 left now. They were all rushing towards the guard tower in one group. I picked one off as the leader ran up the stairs. They started to break in the door window. I quickly crawled towards
the door, and they slammed the but of their M3 Bennelli shotgun into the door window and fired
several times. When the shotgunner stared to reload, I tossed a frag grenade out. I dove across the room and suddenly, a sound pierced the shouting. I couldn't hear anything over the ringing of my ears, but as I began to hear again, I noticed there wasn't any more shouting. The frag had worked. I gave a big sigh, but As I turned around, I saw blood, lots of it. The two guards had been hit by the shotgun blasts, and you don't want know what it looked like on the stairs.

I went back down to the armory and got all the supplies I needed including camouflage, and
loaded them into the Hummer. I saw a radio on my second trip, picked it up, switched it to the
frequency for military use ( which I got from a list that was in a desk) and said " I am at the National Guard Armory in Fort Worth Texas, I have just survived a attack, if anyone can hear me, we could probably use this as a small base against the oncoming attacks.". I waited for about five minutes, but there was no response. I gathered up some more weapons and checked the soldiers for and goods they might have. I noticed one had a German patch on his uniform. This couldn't be good. Just then, I heard a vehicle coming. I quickly dashed for cover under the Hummer. I watched as it slowly pulled in. I saw four feet climb out of what looked like a jeep. It had U.S markings, thank goodness. I quickly slid out from under the vehicle. One of them heard me and quickly turned around and pointed a weapon at me and shouted " Hands up!". I quickly complied and said " Don't shoot! I am an American!". He didn't look convinced, so he asked "Sing the national anthem!". I quickly started singing, and when he noticed I had no weapon he said " You can't be too careful in times like these. I am Sgt. Timothius Danford of the U.S Marine Corps. and this is PFC. Patrick Oritiz. We heard your distress call, and we're here to help"
